Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race297 viewsIt rained, again, for the Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race on Monday, May 29, but that never stops the participants from paddling the 14 miles of the Mattapoisett River that winds from Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir in Snipatuit Pond in Rochester all the way to the Herring Weir in Mattapoisett off River Road and Route 6. Beginning at Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir on Snipatuit Road, boaters paddled the almost 12-mile race route to Herring Weir at River Road in Mattapoisett. There were 65 teams in all.
