The local SCA group, “The Barony of Smoking Rocks,” is a group of lovers of all things from Renaissance and medieval history, who fully immerse themselves in it with authentic costume and activities. Beginning at Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir on Snipatuit Road, boaters paddled the almost 12-mile race route to Herring Weir at River Road in Mattapoisett. There were 65 teams in all.
