Memorial Day Boat Race326 viewsKeeping with an 80 year-old tradition, people with their home made boats raced toward the finish line during the annual Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race. Beginning at Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir on Snipatuit Road, boaters paddled the almost 12-mile race route to Herring Weir at River Road in Mattapoisett. There were 65 teams in all. New Year’s Eve Party326 viewsA New Year’s Eve party at the Rochester Senior Center gave area seniors the chance to ring in the New Year early in the company of friends. Guests enjoyed dinner and dessert followed by the sharing of New Year’s resolutions and non-alcoholic bubbly.
