Grandparent's Day400 viewsIt was a perfect autumn day for the SouthCoast Senior Resource Alliance Grandparents’ Day at Hiller Farm in Rochester on September 19. Children and their grandparents had fun playing bean-bag toss, bocce, posing with the Three Stooges, and more. The face-painting and petting zoo areas were a complete hit! Most importantly, the free event provided information to seniors on health services available in the SouthCoast area. Photo by Anne O’Brien-Kakley

Bugs, bugs, bugs400 viewsDo you know the difference between a bug and an insect? Are you well-versed in the parts of an insect – the head, thorax and abdomen? It was all things bugs when a Mad Scientist came to the Plumb Library in Rochester on April 22, 2010. Over a dozen children enjoyed the April vacation bug demonstration with hands-on activities and learning fun. Photo by Anne O’Brien-Kakley.

Rochester Country Fair400 viewsRochester’s Country Fair was a great success despite the cancellation of the Town Ball Game, Woodsman Show, the Block dance and the Bonfire due to EEE. The weather was perfect on Saturday as children raced frogs, climbed walls, bounced in castles and much more. Although the weather was less than perfect on Sunday, residents lined the streets with lawn chairs and umbrellas to watch as the Hillbilly themed parade passed. Photos by Felix Perez.
