Sowing a Seed of Peace 350 viewsThese tender young leaves belong to a ginkgo biloba sapling propagated from a 250-year-old tree that survived the Hiroshima atomic blast. The Town of Rochester held a ceremony by the recently planted baby tree at the Dexter Lane ball fields on August 6, the 72nd anniversary of the bombing, and also acknowledged the Town’s participation in Arbor Day. Antiques in Rochester349 viewsA teddy bear won at a carnival by Nancy Boutin's father for her mother in the early 1940's was appraised by Frank McNamee for $50 to $75. The chair belonged her Grandmother's aunt Delia, was made around 1890 and was appraised for $175. Unfortunately for collectors, Nancy doesn't plan on parting with these items. Photo by Felix Perez.

Rochester Country Fair349 viewsRochesters Country Fair was a great success despite the cancellation of the Town Ball Game, Woodsman Show, the Block dance and the Bonfire due to EEE. The weather was perfect on Saturday as children raced frogs, climbed walls, bounced in castles and much more. Although the weather was less than perfect on Sunday, residents lined the streets with lawn chairs and umbrellas to watch as the Hillbilly themed parade passed. Photos by Felix Perez.

On January 4, 2011, students took their seats in the schools new 11,000 square foot addition and school wing for the first time.
