Flag Day Ceremony 429 viewsRochester Memorial School 4th Grade held an all school Flag Day ceremony on June 14th honoring and thanking community first responders. Commencing this energy filled event was the raising of the flag to the National Anthem followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Acknowledgements to a fantastic show of local and state police, fire fighters, EMT’s, veterans and serving military heroes was presented through 4th grade students and famous poems, songs and personal thank yous. 100th Birthday429 viewsRalph Winfield Walker is celebrating a milestone 100th birthday on May 7. Born in 1914, Walker moved to Rochester in 1946 and served on the Finance Committee before serving as selectman for several terms. Walker is credited as the selectman that brought street signs to the roads of Rochester. As the oldest person in Town, Walker holds the Boston Post cane, a longstanding tradition in New England towns. Family and friends honored Walker on May 5 at the Island Terrace Nursing Home where he now resides.

Classic Cars429 viewsClassic car enthusiasts from the area gathered Monday nights throughout the summer, riding up in their shiny antique cars and pulling up a lawn chair to sit back and reminisce about the good old days to the sounds of music from the ‘50s and ‘60s.
