Poker Run656 viewsMotorcyclists gathered Sunday morning, September 20, in the parking lot of ORR to ride in the third annual Poker Run for Alex Pateakos. Alex is a five-year-old Marion boy who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Money raised by the poker run will benefit Alex, and Families of SMA, a group that helps families like the Pateakos’ live their lives as close to normal as possible. Ashley Mural656 viewsThe mural by Clifford Ashley, donated to the Mattapoisett Historical Society by Polly Duff Phipps, was unveiled in a ceremony at the Mattapoisett Museum and Carriage House on July 31, 2011 after extensive renovation. The mural, entitled "A Chart of the Whale Coast of New England, c. 1810" will now be on display in the Museum at 5 Church Street, Mattapoisett. The basement of St. Anthony’s church was decked out in snowflakes, wreaths, bells, bows, and a Santa sleigh. Santa listened patiently as children told him what they wanted for Christmas.
