Mattapoisett Fire 541 viewsAutism Awareness is in the air this November at the Mattapoisett Fire Station after firefighters completed special training to help them understand how to provide appropriate support for an autistic person during an emergency call. The training was sponsored by the Autism and Law Enforcement Coalition (ALEC) and led by an area firefighter who is the parent of an autistic child.

Mattapoisett Fire Department 541 viewsOn March 6 at approximately 10:09 am, the Mattapoisett Fire Department was dispatched to 141 Fairhaven Road for a reported structure fire. Fire Chief Andrew Murray arrived on scene at 10:11 am and reported heavy fire and smoke showing from the rear of the structure. At the time, a first-alarm assignment was requested to the scene, bringing in engines from Marion and Fairhaven Fire. Rochester Fire responded to Mattapoisett fire station for station coverage. Brownie Points540 viewsMembers of Mattapoisett Brownie Troop 82 recently paid a visit to the residents of Village Court in Mattapoisett. The troop had a May Day Celebration on May 8 for Mattapoisett seniors at the facility. Brownie Troop 82 served guests refreshments, chatted with the ladies, sang a few songs and danced around a May pole. Mattapoisett Woman's Club540 viewsThis past Saturday, the Mattapoisett Woman's Club (MWC) planted daffodil bulbs at several sites in town. The MWC is grateful for the donations from the Lion's Club, Mahoney's, and the Mattapoisett Highway Department for preparing the various places for planting.
