The troop had a May Day Celebration on May 8 for Mattapoisett seniors at the facility. Brownie Troop 82 served guests refreshments, chatted with the ladies, sang a few songs and danced around a May pole. A Tribute to Heroes561 viewsMattapoisett artist and sculptor Keith Francis designed and built this tribute to the Worcester Six, the firefighters who perished in the tragic Worcester Warehouse fire on December 3, 1999. The massive one-ton sculpture now sits in his North Street backyard in clear view of several neighbors who are either firefighters, retired firefighters or relatives of firefighters. Copter Creator561 viewsDr. David Jenney, a retired mechanical engineer for the Sikorsky Company, recounted his forty years with the company, which included his role as a key member of the team that helped to develop the Black Hawk helicopter, during a recent monthly meeting of the Maconchu Club of Mattapoisett on November 8.
