The 5K began at Shipyard Park and cut down Ned’s Point Road to the point, around the lighthouse and back. The Grinch led the pack on his bike, and residents stood by to cheer on all the runners. Tickets were sold out and the venue was filled up. Oysters were served alongside beer and whatever food the over 20 different tables decided to bring. The gang got in touch with the Harbormaster and Mattapoisett Police, but before wildlife experts would arrive on the scene, the tide rose, and the manatee ventured back to sea.
