Tickets were sold out and the venue was filled up. Oysters were served alongside beer and whatever food the over 20 different tables decided to bring. Mattapoisett Manatee127 viewsOn the morning of July 29, Erin Carr and five friends were on their morning run on the Mattapoisett Rail Trail when they stumbled upon a man (and dog) who directed them to a beached manatee. The gang got in touch with the Harbormaster and Mattapoisett Police, but before wildlife experts would arrive on the scene, the tide rose, and the manatee ventured back to sea. Crescent Beach124 viewsLast Saturday, the diving raft at Crescent Beach, Mattapoisett broke loose. Several (mostly older) residents held it from beaching in rough waters for approximately an hour while waiting for help from Mattapoisett Boatyard and while trying to reach a young volunteer who coordinates all things related to the raft.
