Mattapoisett Woman’s Club221 viewsAt the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club luncheon on March 17, members donated to support World Central Kitchen for Ukraine and filled a jar with cash and checks totaling $500. The next afternoon, March 18, several members of the Garden Group collaborated to create window-box displays at the Mattapoisett Post Office. The design was created by Sharon Doyon to show support for the people of Ukraine. The Garden Group was honored to have several people stop to comment and thank them for their efforts

Working the Mattapoisett Harbormaster boat piloted by P.J. Beaudoin were Assistant Harbormaster Robert Clavin and intern Robert Haskell, and on the Mattapoisett Fire Department boat were Firefighter Daniel Cortes and Lieutenant Ross Macedo. Shining Tides Multiuse Pathway221 viewsThe official opening of the Shining Tides multiuse pathway took place on June 12 with approximately 75 people gathered to applaud the 20-year effort. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation hosted the ribbon-cutting event where the elevated bridge span crosses the Mattapoisett River and Eel Pond marshlands. Representative William Straus noted the hard work of both local volunteers and government members, as well as the support and work done by those associated with Secretary of Transportation
