The event was hosted by an ad hoc group collecting donations for those battling cancer. The group has been successful in their efforts to help offset the unseen costs associated with a cancer diagnosis impacting local families. An epidemiologist by day, Fuchs enjoys creating works from wood. Some have been created from an apple tree that once was a source of play for the Fuchs brothers. The next afternoon, March 18, several members of the Garden Group collaborated to create window-box displays at the Mattapoisett Post Office. The design was created by Sharon Doyon to show support for the people of Ukraine. The Garden Group was honored to have several people stop to comment and thank them for their efforts
