Kayak Clinic265 viewsAugust 9 and 10, the Mattapoisett Land Trust in partnership with the Mattapoisett Recreation Department held two kayak clinics for children ages 8 to 12. MLT volunteers provided safety instructions, a major focus of the program. Kayak introductory instruction has been provided by the two organizations for six years. Mattapoisett Polar Plunge265 viewsNew Year’s Day 2023 was bright and balmy when over 100 “plungers” ran, walked, hopped and slid into the freezing waters at Mattapoisett Town Beach. The event was hosted by an ad hoc group collecting donations for those battling cancer. The group has been successful in their efforts to help offset the unseen costs associated with a cancer diagnosis impacting local families.
