Mattapoisett Polar Plunge365 viewsNew Year’s Day 2023 was bright and balmy when over 100 “plungers” ran, walked, hopped and slid into the freezing waters at Mattapoisett Town Beach. The event was hosted by an ad hoc group collecting donations for those battling cancer. The group has been successful in their efforts to help offset the unseen costs associated with a cancer diagnosis impacting local families. An epidemiologist by day, Fuchs enjoys creating works from wood. Some have been created from an apple tree that once was a source of play for the Fuchs brothers.
