Hundreds were in attendance to pay tribute, remember, and support local singers and musical artists. Over 20 different performances occurred at the stage, including The Showstoppers, of which Nolan was a member beginning in 2014 at the age of nine. Mattapoisett Woman’s Club237 viewsAt the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club luncheon on March 17, members donated to support World Central Kitchen for Ukraine and filled a jar with cash and checks totaling $500. The next afternoon, March 18, several members of the Garden Group collaborated to create window-box displays at the Mattapoisett Post Office. The design was created by Sharon Doyon to show support for the people of Ukraine. The Garden Group was honored to have several people stop to comment and thank them for their efforts

Great Picnic237 viewsAttendees at Friday night’s “Great Picnic” on the one-acre Munro preserve overlooking Mattapoisett Harbor enjoyed live music and adorned their tables with creatively competitive centerpieces featuring everything from a palm tree to pickleballs. Mattapoisett Land Trust Vice President Peter Davies told the Wanderer that the Mattapoisett Museum and the MLT have jointly organized the event for five nonconsecutive years. Mattapoisett Polar Plunge237 viewsNew Year’s Day 2023 was bright and balmy when over 100 “plungers” ran, walked, hopped and slid into the freezing waters at Mattapoisett Town Beach. The event was hosted by an ad hoc group collecting donations for those battling cancer. The group has been successful in their efforts to help offset the unseen costs associated with a cancer diagnosis impacting local families.
