Tinkham is recognized by the community's Historical Commission as a Farmer-Friend-Educator with a commemorative brick placed at the site of the former Tripp Mill at Tinkham Pond on Acushnet Road. The Tripp Mill was owned by the Tinkham family for generations and noted as a historical location with an informative plaque. Tinkham is 99-years old and plans to celebrate his next birthday.

Mattapoisett Polar Plunge373 viewsNew Year’s Day 2023 was bright and balmy when over 100 “plungers” ran, walked, hopped and slid into the freezing waters at Mattapoisett Town Beach. The event was hosted by an ad hoc group collecting donations for those battling cancer. The group has been successful in their efforts to help offset the unseen costs associated with a cancer diagnosis impacting local families.
