Tinkham is recognized by the community's Historical Commission as a Farmer-Friend-Educator with a commemorative brick placed at the site of the former Tripp Mill at Tinkham Pond on Acushnet Road. The Tripp Mill was owned by the Tinkham family for generations and noted as a historical location with an informative plaque. Tinkham is 99-years old and plans to celebrate his next birthday.

Kayak Clinic244 viewsAugust 9 and 10, the Mattapoisett Land Trust in partnership with the Mattapoisett Recreation Department held two kayak clinics for children ages 8 to 12. MLT volunteers provided safety instructions, a major focus of the program. Kayak introductory instruction has been provided by the two organizations for six years.
