Helping Hands and Hooves218 viewsOn April 30, a fundraising craft fair was held at the Red Oak Garden on the site of the Helping Hands and Hooves' garden on Aucoot Road in Mattapoisett. Organic materials produced on the acreage were made into various ornamental and utilitarian items, allowing the grace and beauty of nature's bounty to shine through. Great Picnic218 viewsAttendees at Friday night’s “Great Picnic” on the one-acre Munro preserve overlooking Mattapoisett Harbor enjoyed live music and adorned their tables with creatively competitive centerpieces featuring everything from a palm tree to pickleballs. Mattapoisett Land Trust Vice President Peter Davies told the Wanderer that the Mattapoisett Museum and the MLT have jointly organized the event for five nonconsecutive years. An explosion followed by a raging fire leveled Mattapoisett Boatyard and destroyed the 14 boats and 47 vehicles on site.
