Mattapoisett Woman's Club241 viewsInclement weather forced the Mattapoisett Woman's Club to move its Holidays Wreath and Greens Sale indoors, and the club was thrilled that the December 3 event, with the assistance of MWC members Cindy Turse and Sandy Hering, Fire Chief Andy Murray and Town Administrator Mike Lorenco, was able to go on as scheduled in the Old Firehouse on Route 6. Wreaths sold out within the first hour of the sale, with swags, table pieces, box designs and special ornaments, all exquisitely hand-decorated

Keep on Plungin’ 241 viewsThe annual Keep on Plungin’ New Year’s Day swim drew well over 100 participants to Mattapoisett Town Beach, continuing a tradition started in 2013 by Will and Michelle Huggins to help families facing expenses related to cancer care. In the last two years, the community-driven effort has benefitted three families and Dana Farber with a $1,000 donation in Huggins’ honor. This year, organizers anticipate supporting at least two more families with checks for $2,000. Photos by Mick Colageo

The Weekend on Cape Cod When Everything Changed241 viewsA positive vibe permeates the movie set of “The Weekend on Cape Cod When Everything Changed,” which is being filmed in Mattapoisett this month.
