Fish Story626 viewsThe Buzzards Bay Anglers Club hosted the First Annual Gus Casassa Scup Cup fishing tournament at the Mattapoisett Wharves on Saturday, July 11. The event attracted about 20 youngsters aged twelve and younger with each child receiving a new fishing rod and reel as part of their entry. Mattapoisett Man Remembered626 viewsIt was a very sad day in Mattapoisett on January 10, 2012, as the community learned about an early morning Brandt Island Road accident that took the life of Carl Pacheco, 23, a Mattapoisett resident. Before the crafting began, more than 20 children learned that these creations were originally fabricated in Barbados by English women living there. The “Valentines” were sold as tourist items.
