Mattapoisett Woman’s Club Garden Group214 viewsRed, white, and blue was Sharon Doyon’s vision of the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club Garden Group as 18 members gathered at the library to plant on May 26 in areas including the pots at the Mattapoisett Historical Society and Town Hall, window boxes at the post office and Town Beach house, the lighthouse garden at the harbor, plus the gardens and planters at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library.

Mattapoisett Library214 viewsOn August 7, the Mattapoisett Library hosted the New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance. Interns from the Wareham-based agency gave a hands-on talk to small children on local sea turtles. NECWA studies local marine life, collecting data for a variety of agencies. Marion Garden Group214 viewsFour times a year members of the Marion Garden Group gather to plant over 15 window box, planters and urns throughout Marion Village. Each year Spring is welcomed with a profusion of colorful pansies. This year members decided to dedicate their efforts toward indicating our support for Ukraine. “Pansies lend themselves easily to this sort of tribute” Suzy Taylor, Garden Group Vice President said. “We partnered with Eden’s to find the best shade to represent the blue.”
