Happy Days at Harbor Days 354 viewsIt all seems to come and go so quickly year after year, but while the Harbors Days are here the people of Mattapoisett and surrounding towns make time to enjoy the annual seaside event – the fish fry, lobster feast, pancake breakfast, and arts and crafts – that the Mattapoisett Lions Club works so hard all year round to keep going. RBG354 viewsRegina McIntyre of Angelica Avenue in Mattapoisett erected a small but poignant memorial outside her home to honor Ruth Bader Ginsburg following the Supreme Court Justice’s passing. “I couldn’t travel to Washington, so I decided to place this memorial here to remember her work on behalf of both women and men,” adding: “She was such an example, (a) role model.” It was a family affair as McIntyre’s sister dressed the Ginsburg doll in a hand-sewn robe complete with seed pearl collar and red shoes.

Fall Fun353 viewsThe Mattapoisett Historical Museum and Carriage House hosted a cider-making and pumpkin-carving event at the Museum on September 26. Children got the chance to press their own cider, carve some silly faces, and peel apples. Nothing tastes better than cider youve made yourself! Photo by Felix Perez.
