Harbor Days 385 viewsHarbor Days came to Mattapoisett this past weekend, and many visitors were gracious enough to spin The Wanderer Wheel for a $1 donation to the Lions Club. Those who played helped raise an extra $523 the Lions Club will use to benefit the community. Mattapoisett Sailing385 viewsThe Mattapoisett Sailing program is in its final week for the 2020 season. Begun in 2006 in memory of William Mee, the program is open to community children divided into two age groups that meet weekday mornings and afternoons at Mattapoisett Town Beach. From 9-11 am and 1-3 pm, students sail under the watchful eye of experienced instructors and three safety boats. Mattapoisett Land Trust Education Committee385 viewsOn Thursday, June 3, for the first time in 14 months, visitors were allowed on Old Hammondtown School property and the Mattapoisett Land Trust Education Committee designed a Grade 2 Life Science seed program, required by Massachusetts second grade curriculum – Ecosystems: interactions, energy, and dynamics through the planting and life cycle of the sunflower.
