Tour de Crème394 viewsThe Mattapoisett Land Trust in tandem with the Mattapoisett Bike Path Committee held its first Tour de Crème on Sunday, May 22. The fundraiser brought groups on three different courses – 13-, 25-, and 48-miles long – winding their way through area towns and making stops at various local ice cream parlors. Mattapoisett Sailing394 viewsThe Mattapoisett Sailing program is in its final week for the 2020 season. Begun in 2006 in memory of William Mee, the program is open to community children divided into two age groups that meet weekday mornings and afternoons at Mattapoisett Town Beach. From 9-11 am and 1-3 pm, students sail under the watchful eye of experienced instructors and three safety boats. Snow Spirits394 viewsMary Cabral was driving past Munro Park on her way to the Mattapoisett Town Wharf when she spotted two young children playing there in the snow. Later while walking through the park, she happened upon the result of the children’s activity, a pair of “snow spirit” sculptures. “The sculptures were so cute and seemed to be watching over the park bench that is dedicated to Ellen Flynn's parents,” wrote Cabral.
