Shaw Farm Trail409 viewsJuly 31 was a big day for the Buzzards Bay Coalition, the Towns of Fairhaven and Mattapoisett, and the entire South Coast when 416 acres of farmland and conservation land were added to the Nasketucket Bay Conservation Project, which was formally completed with the addition of the Shaw Farm Trail that now links the bike path with the Nasketucket Bay State Reservation. Brad Barrows Ride409 viewsThe annual Brad Barrows Ride took place on Saturday, September 19, with around 60 to 70 participants riding on roughly 40 motorcycles. The fundraiser proceeds go to fund local youth sports, a cause that was dear to the late Barrows’ heart. Barrows was the owner of the bad “Brad’s” in Mattapoisett until his death in 2007. Tour de Crème409 viewsThe Mattapoisett Land Trust in tandem with the Mattapoisett Bike Path Committee held its first Tour de Crème on Sunday, May 22. The fundraiser brought groups on three different courses – 13-, 25-, and 48-miles long – winding their way through area towns and making stops at various local ice cream parlors. Harbor Days 409 viewsHarbor Days came to Mattapoisett this past weekend, and many visitors were gracious enough to spin The Wanderer Wheel for a $1 donation to the Lions Club. Those who played helped raise an extra $523 the Lions Club will use to benefit the community.
