Lawson explained the physiology of the bivalves, how to use a shellfish rake, and the importance of obtaining a permit and being mindful of the difference between open and closed shellfish beds. Alpacapalooza! 383 viewsPine Meadows Farm in Mattapoisett is home to some 17 alpacas. Owners Heidi and Jeff Paine opened up the farm to the public over the weekend once the weather cleared. The storm brought strong wind and cold rain to the area, especially at the turn around Ned’s Point Lighthouse, dampening the day but not the sentiment behind the Women’s Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts’ largest annual fundraising event.
