Those who played helped raise an extra $523 the Lions Club will use to benefit the community. Mattapoisett Firemen’s Reunion387 viewsRetired firemen gathered to celebrate the first Mattapoisett Firemen’s Reunion on October 16 at Ned’s Point. Former members of the Mattapoisett Fire Department along with several others from Fairhaven, Rochester, and Marion and current members of the department enjoyed the splendid fall afternoon while reliving past events in careers that spanned decades. On hand to greet the men and women as they arrived was retired Chief Ron Scott, who spent 42 years on the Mattapoisett Fire Department.

Veterans Day Ceremony in Mattapoiset387 viewsCol. Joseph McGraw was the guest speaker during the Veterans Day Ceremony at Old Hammondtown School. McGraw has a long and impressive military career. He graduated in 1994 from U.S. Military Academy and achieved successive ranks to become a full colonel in 2015. George Randall, member of the Florence Eastman Post of the American Legion, recited the preamble to the American Constitution and the Gettysburg Address before a standing-room only audience during the November 11 Veterans Day Ceremony in Mattapoiset
