Bikeway Challenge486 viewsOn Sunday, June 24, the Friends of the Mattapoisett Bike Path hosted their first annual South Coast Bikeway Challenge. Local residents were invited to ride their bikes along the path in order to raise money for the completion of the ongoing project. In addition to the ride, live music was provided and the Mattapoisett Lions Club served lunch. Veteran’s Day 486 viewsOn November 12, members of the Mattapoisett community gathered together at Old Hammondtown Elementary School for their annual Veteran’s Day ceremony. Commander Michael Lamoureux served as emcee of the event while State Representative William Straus, Selectman Paul Silva, Veterans’ Agent Barry Denham and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Scott Burrill addressed the audience.
