Presto Press425 viewsA partnership between the Mattapoisett Historical Society and the public library allowed the sale of duplicate issues of the Presto Press, which was printed from the 1950s until the early 1990s. People poured over the stacks seeking a specific issue or year to take home for their personal archives. Vernal Pools425 viewsGary Johnson of the Mattapoisett Land Trust led about a dozen on an excursion to the vernal pool at the Woodcock Preserve off Long Plain Road on Saturday, April 16, where they spotted the egg masses of the blue-spotted salamander, a species of ‘special concern,’ and the wood frog.
