Salty's Hat431 viewsEarly this past Friday, December 1, as folks were rushing to work and children settling into school, an annual tradition transpired in Mattapoisett at the corner of Route 6 and North Street. With the placement of the Santa hat upon the head of our beloved Salty the Seahorse, the holiday season officially began. Mattapoisett Woman’s Club Garden Tour431 viewsThe Mattapoisett Woman’s Club Garden Tour “Nature’s Treasures” held on June 30 was “Magnificent”, declared Ellen Flynn. Flynn said that the event brought in more than $6,000 - monies that are earmarked for their scholarship fund. She said visitors were awed by the gardens graciously opened for viewing from iconic harbor homes to those set in peaceful rural uplands along the Mattapoisett River Valley. Lions Club Triathlon431 viewsUnder merciful overcast skies on July 15, the 37th annual Lions Club Triathlon found 115 participants including seven relay teams vying for first place bragging rights. Coming in 1st place in the men’s division was Brian Hughes with a time of 51:38 minutes.
