2011 Triathlon433 views240 athletes kicked off the Harbor Days week on July 10, 2011 with the Mattapoisett Lions’ Triathlon, which started from Mattapoisett Town Beach and included a .25-mile swim, a 10-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. The men’s winner for the Triathlon was Keith Putnam or Marston Mills, MA with a time of 52:52, and the women’s winner was Katie McCully of Eastham, MA with a time of 58:51. Photo by Anne Kakley.

Veteran’s Day 433 viewsOn November 12, members of the Mattapoisett community gathered together at Old Hammondtown Elementary School for their annual Veteran’s Day ceremony. Commander Michael Lamoureux served as emcee of the event while State Representative William Straus, Selectman Paul Silva, Veterans’ Agent Barry Denham and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Scott Burrill addressed the audience.
