Healing Little Hearts 5K 403 viewsUpward of 300 runners competed in the inaugural Healing Little Hearts 5K on a beautiful Columbus Day morning. Holiday Party at Shipyard Park403 viewsThe community turned out for a wonderful late afternoon of lights, music, food and fun at the annual Holiday Party at Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett hosted by the Lions Club. The Lions were collecting non-perishable food and unwrapped new toys to distribute to those in need during the holiday. Visitors learned all about the history of swords and the origins of sword fighting, while Jeff Lord and Jeff Goodkind from the Association for Renaissance and Medieval Swordsmanship gave live demonstrations before a crowd of enthusiastic kids and adults. Mattapoisett Historical Museum Photos403 viewsThe Mattapoisett Historical Museum is in possession of hundreds of photographs dating from the 1800s to as recently as the 1980s bearing images of people and places from Mattapoisett, but lacking identification. In their latest exhibit, the museum is asking the public to help solve the mystery each of the pictures represents. Each black and white or colorized image is a mini-mystery waiting to be solved.
