Top Lions664 viewsOn Saturday, June 20th, the Mattapoisett Lions Club held its Installation of Officers for 2009-2010 at the Wamsutta Club in New Bedford. They were most fortunate to have New Bedford Lion, John Hoyle, a Past International Director of Lions Clubs International, serve as Installing Officer.
Lion Hoyle began by briefly instructing the incoming Board of Directors, Mattapoistt Lions Paul Levine, Clay King, Pierre Bernier and Jeff Swift in the importance of their duties.

Fish Story662 viewsThe Buzzards Bay Anglers Club hosted the First Annual Gus Casassa Scup Cup fishing tournament at the Mattapoisett Wharves on Saturday, July 11. The event attracted about 20 youngsters aged twelve and younger with each child receiving a new fishing rod and reel as part of their entry. Thousands of visitors flocked to the Mattapoisett waterfront for this annual event now in its twenty sixth year.
