Christmas Holiday Shop508 viewsSt. Anthony’s and St. Rita’s parishioners combined efforts to give the community a Christmas Holiday Shop and Celebration on Saturday, December 5, 2009. The basement of St. Anthony’s church was decked out in snowflakes, wreaths, bells, bows, and a Santa sleigh. Santa listened patiently as children told him what they wanted for Christmas. Dog's Beach508 viewsAmy Hardwick, a Mattapoisett resident, is petitioning to make Goodspeed Island the official dog beach in town. The town has been working to keep the dog waste bag dispenser full, after abutting neighbors have complained about trash and dog waste at Goodspeed. 2011 Triathlon508 views240 athletes kicked off the Harbor Days week on July 10, 2011 with the Mattapoisett Lions’ Triathlon, which started from Mattapoisett Town Beach and included a .25-mile swim, a 10-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. The men’s winner for the Triathlon was Keith Putnam or Marston Mills, MA with a time of 52:52, and the women’s winner was Katie McCully of Eastham, MA with a time of 58:51. Photo by Anne Kakley.

The Historical Society is having its annual holiday shop, which features a variety of unique gifts such as historical postcard and map recreations, books, and tree ornaments.
