Holiday Party at Shipyard Park514 viewsThe community turned out for a wonderful late afternoon of lights, music, food and fun at the annual Holiday Party at Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett hosted by the Lions Club. The Lions were collecting non-perishable food and unwrapped new toys to distribute to those in need during the holiday. Harbor Days 514 viewsHarbor Days came to Mattapoisett this past weekend, and many visitors were gracious enough to spin The Wanderer Wheel for a $1 donation to the Lions Club. Those who played helped raise an extra $523 the Lions Club will use to benefit the community. Dog Walk-a-thon514 viewsFreemin Bauer, 17, of Mattapoisett Boy Scout Troop 53, along with his fellow scouts and adult assistants, held a Dog Walk-a-thon on August 27 in Mattapoisett Village. Bauer’s event, part of his Eagle project, is to raise awareness for being a responsible dog owner and to help support the Fairhaven Animal Shelter. Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase supplies for repairs the scouts will make to the facility. Additional funds raised from the event will be donated to the shelter. Photos by Marilou
