Healing Little Hearts 5K 413 viewsUpward of 300 runners competed in the inaugural Healing Little Hearts 5K on a beautiful Columbus Day morning. The organization helps fund research efforts into children’s heart defects. “From my family and from the families you’re helping, thank you,” said Kelly Weglowski, who, along with husband, Marc, and daughter Jillian founded Healing Little Hearts in the midst of their son and brother Brady’s own battle. Freezin' for a Reason 2014413 viewsParticipants in the 2014 Polar Plunge on January 1 were encouraged to wear costumes for the event, which raised thousands of dollars for the BAM Foundation. BAM is an organization that offers financial assistance to families battling cancer to help offset the unexpected costs of cancer treatment. Hundreds of people turned out for the event, with over a hundred participants who plunged into 34 degree waters, just a few degrees warmer than the 28 degree air temperature that morning. In their latest exhibit, the museum is asking the public to help solve the mystery each of the pictures represents. Each black and white or colorized image is a mini-mystery waiting to be solved.
