Rows of vendors peddled their fun wares while visitors of all ages enjoyed music, conversation and the best strawberry shortcake in the world. Bikeway Challenge449 viewsOn Sunday, June 24, the Friends of the Mattapoisett Bike Path hosted their first annual South Coast Bikeway Challenge. Local residents were invited to ride their bikes along the path in order to raise money for the completion of the ongoing project. In addition to the ride, live music was provided and the Mattapoisett Lions Club served lunch. Veteran’s Day 449 viewsOn November 12, members of the Mattapoisett community gathered together at Old Hammondtown Elementary School for their annual Veteran’s Day ceremony. Commander Michael Lamoureux served as emcee of the event while State Representative William Straus, Selectman Paul Silva, Veterans’ Agent Barry Denham and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Scott Burrill addressed the audience.
