Chili Cook-off423 viewsThe MattMen of Mattapoisett Congregational Church came together Sunday night, January 25th ,to see who amongst them cooks up the best man-made chili. Tasting was free to all who came. Those who wished to vote contributed $5 to The Baby Project of New Bedford. $518 was raised for The Baby Project. Local restaurants and cafés dole out servings of their specialty foods for ticket holders to the event hosted by the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club. Mattapoisett Firemen’s Reunion423 viewsRetired firemen gathered to celebrate the first Mattapoisett Firemen’s Reunion on October 16 at Ned’s Point. Former members of the Mattapoisett Fire Department along with several others from Fairhaven, Rochester, and Marion and current members of the department enjoyed the splendid fall afternoon while reliving past events in careers that spanned decades. On hand to greet the men and women as they arrived was retired Chief Ron Scott, who spent 42 years on the Mattapoisett Fire Department.
