Rows of vendors peddled their fun wares while visitors of all ages enjoyed music, conversation and the best strawberry shortcake in the world. Sandy Relief423 viewsOn Friday, November 16, members of the Mattapoisett Lions Club packed a moving truck full of food and supplies and drove them down to Queens, NY to distribute them to victims of Hurricane Sandy. Nick's Pizza, Oxford Creamery, Mattapoisett Chowder House, On the Go and Panino's all donated soups and hot dogs to be served to those in need. The Rochester Lions Club also cooked chili to serve. New Year Plunge423 viewsOn January 1, 2013, Mattapoisett Town Beach played host to a New Year’s polar plunge fundraiser. The event, which attracted over 400 people, raised money to benefit BAM Foundation, Inc., a New Bedford non-profit which donates money to South Coast families dealing with members who have cancer. Memorial Day 2014423 viewsScores of Mattapoisett residents gathered in front of the Mattapoisett Free Library the drizzly afternoon of May 26 to pay homage to veteran Americans who lost their lives. Onlookers filled the lawn and spilled out into the street to watch the Memorial Day ceremony with special guest speaker Navy Reserve Commander Paul J.
