Christmas Holiday Shop424 viewsSt. Anthony’s and St. Rita’s parishioners combined efforts to give the community a Christmas Holiday Shop and Celebration on Saturday, December 5, 2009. The basement of St. Anthony’s church was decked out in snowflakes, wreaths, bells, bows, and a Santa sleigh. Santa listened patiently as children told him what they wanted for Christmas. Heifer International works to end world hunger and poverty by donating livestock to families in need. Mom's Running424 viewsOver 600 runners came to Mattapoisett on May 9, 2010 to celebrate mom in the fourth annual Tiara Classic 5K road race. This year’s race had more runners than ever, despite the wind and cold temperatures. 2011 Triathlon424 views240 athletes kicked off the Harbor Days week on July 10, 2011 with the Mattapoisett Lions’ Triathlon, which started from Mattapoisett Town Beach and included a .25-mile swim, a 10-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. The men’s winner for the Triathlon was Keith Putnam or Marston Mills, MA with a time of 52:52, and the women’s winner was Katie McCully of Eastham, MA with a time of 58:51. Photo by Anne Kakley.

Extreme Engineering424 viewsOn Tuesday, July 31, dozens of curious students gathered at the Mattapoisett Library to join Dr. Martin Hudis in his Extreme Engineering program. The students participated in a variety of different exercises using remote controlled helicopters in a hands-on approach to learn valuable lessons in math and science. Old Hammondtown School 424 viewsOn Friday, May 2nd, the Old Hammondtown School sixth grade enjoyed another field trip to Nasketucket State Park.
