Two categories – professional establishment and public safety – competed for best judged chowder and people’s choice. 48th Annual Mattapoisett Road Race 410 viewsThe 48th Annual Mattapoisett Road Race once again brought out young and old alike. Overcast skies were welcomed but the July 4th heat was tough for the runners and the cheering crowds who begged for shade. The field of runners was well over 1,000 and coming in first was Joe Farrand at 26:59. Shortly after, the first female to finish was Kim Bolick at 29:54. The Mattapoisett Land Trust’s annual tradition continues with help from the folks at Brownell Systems and their trusty crane.
