Family Fun Festival 432 viewsThe Mattapoisett Lions Club held its first Family Fun Festival at Shipyard Park on Saturday, October 29, featuring some good old-fashioned fun and games. The 11 ladies and one young, but experienced novice Brenna Carrier, 12, created covered pillows during the exercise. With the placement of the Santa hat upon the head of our beloved Salty the Seahorse, the holiday season officially began. Holiday in the Park432 viewsIt looked like another record turnout at Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett on December 9 for the annual Holiday in the Park and tree lighting. Mattapoisett Memorial Day432 viewsMattapoisett Board of Selectmen along with members of the American Legion Florence Eastman Post 280, Rep. William Straus, and special guest Col. Chris Kidd attended the Memorial Day observances at Center School on May 28. The Old Hammondtown School concert band under the direction of Cara Kinney played patriotic tunes to a full house, and afterwards the Memorial Day parade headed to the Civil War monument at the library.
