Alpacapalooza! 540 viewsPine Meadows Farm in Mattapoisett is home to some 17 alpacas. Owners Heidi and Jeff Paine opened up the farm to the public over the weekend once the weather cleared. The Mattapoisett Library hosted a Blackout Poetry Lab on Saturday, April 21, and provided all the materials for any blackout poet to explore the art form. Ikebana540 viewsMattapoisett resident Ellen Flynn gave an Ikebana flower arranging demonstration at the public library on May 5. This type of flower arranging began in 7th century Japan, and Flynn has studied the art form for over 15 years. Lions Club Triathlon540 viewsUnder merciful overcast skies on July 15, the 37th annual Lions Club Triathlon found 115 participants including seven relay teams vying for first place bragging rights. Coming in 1st place in the men’s division was Brian Hughes with a time of 51:38 minutes.
