Artists Summer Gallery 418 viewsThe Mattapoisett-area Artists Summer Gallery Exhibit will take place on weekends from July 3 to Labor Day. The exhibit will feature paintings, sculptures, photography and scrimshaw by well-known area artists, including sculptures by David Englund and oil paintings by Christine Bertram. Harbor Days Craze418 viewsThe town gazebo was the scene of another sultry Harbor Days this past weekend. Rows of vendors peddled their fun wares while visitors of all ages enjoyed music, conversation and the best strawberry shortcake in the world. The festivities started in earnest on Friday night with chowder and seafood rolls, and continued until Sunday. Only 51 more weeks until Harbor Days 2011! Photos by Felix Perez.

Heritage Days 2011418 viewsThe Fairhaven Village Militia made their annual encampment along the Mattapoisett River on August 6, 2011, as a part of Heritage Days. The Militia demonstrated 18th century living, made beef stew, completed drills, and talked about the dentistry methods of that time period. Freezin' for a Reason 2014418 viewsParticipants in the 2014 Polar Plunge on January 1 were encouraged to wear costumes for the event, which raised thousands of dollars for the BAM Foundation. BAM is an organization that offers financial assistance to families battling cancer to help offset the unexpected costs of cancer treatment. Hundreds of people turned out for the event, with over a hundred participants who plunged into 34 degree waters, just a few degrees warmer than the 28 degree air temperature that morning.
