Army Sergeant Ryan McGrath also returned on Thursday, September 1. Mattapoisett resident Kim Corazzini, a friend of the Rosperich family, led over 20 volunteers to give the men a proper welcome, which included lining Route 6 with yellow ribbons, American flags and welcome home signs. On Wednesday mornings, seniors have gathered at the bowling lanes in Mattapoisett for some conversation and friendly competition. Veteran’s Day 419 viewsOn November 12, members of the Mattapoisett community gathered together at Old Hammondtown Elementary School for their annual Veteran’s Day ceremony. Commander Michael Lamoureux served as emcee of the event while State Representative William Straus, Selectman Paul Silva, Veterans’ Agent Barry Denham and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Scott Burrill addressed the audience.
