New Year Plunge446 viewsOn January 1, 2013, Mattapoisett Town Beach played host to a New Year’s polar plunge fundraiser. The event, which attracted over 400 people, raised money to benefit BAM Foundation, Inc., a New Bedford non-profit which donates money to South Coast families dealing with members who have cancer. Presto Press446 viewsA partnership between the Mattapoisett Historical Society and the public library allowed the sale of duplicate issues of the Presto Press, which was printed from the 1950s until the early 1990s. People poured over the stacks seeking a specific issue or year to take home for their personal archives.
