Usually held in New Bedford, race organizer Geoff Smith moved the race to Mattapoisett, flooding the village streets with hundreds of Santas – and a few Christmas miniature horses, as well. Poker Run482 viewsMotorcyclists gathered Sunday morning, September 20, in the parking lot of ORR to ride in the third annual Poker Run for Alex Pateakos. Alex is a five-year-old Marion boy who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Money raised by the poker run will benefit Alex, and Families of SMA, a group that helps families like the Pateakos’ live their lives as close to normal as possible. Mattapoisett Lions Club482 viewsDespite cool raining weather members of the Mattapoisett Lions Club joined together on Saturday April 20th to repair the shade shed at Ned’s Point, including a new roof. The following Saturday the members repaired the shade shed at the town beach. Both shade shed were originally built by the members of the Lions Club.
