Breakfast with Santa454 viewsIn 2014 the Mattapoisett Police Officer’s Association partnered up with the Mattapoisett Knight’s of Columbus in their already established “Breakfast with Santa.” This year we asked for each family to bring a new or slightly used gift, jacket or book to later be delivered to Gift’s To Give. The Assocoation had a great turn out and met their goal in filling a police cruiser.

48th Annual Mattapoisett Road Race 454 viewsThe 48th Annual Mattapoisett Road Race once again brought out young and old alike. Overcast skies were welcomed but the July 4th heat was tough for the runners and the cheering crowds who begged for shade. The field of runners was well over 1,000 and coming in first was Joe Farrand at 26:59. Shortly after, the first female to finish was Kim Bolick at 29:54. Harbor Days454 viewsSaturday was a splendid day to celebrate Harbor Days, with thousands turning out throughout the day ahead of Sunday’s dubious weather forecast that caused the early end to the annual weeklong event at Shipyard Park. Family Fun Festival 454 viewsFamilies came out in record numbers to enjoy the 4th Annual Fall Free Family Fun Festival sponsored by the Mattapoisett’s Lion Club on October 19 held at Shipyard Park. Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home.
