Mattapoisett Firemen’s Reunion437 viewsRetired firemen gathered to celebrate the first Mattapoisett Firemen’s Reunion on October 16 at Ned’s Point. Former members of the Mattapoisett Fire Department along with several others from Fairhaven, Rochester, and Marion and current members of the department enjoyed the splendid fall afternoon while reliving past events in careers that spanned decades. On hand to greet the men and women as they arrived was retired Chief Ron Scott, who spent 42 years on the Mattapoisett Fire Department.

Carolyn Titcomb437 viewsOn April 8, family and friends gathered at the residence of Carolyn Titcomb of Mattapoisett to celebrate her 100th birthday. Those in attendance traveled from throughout New England and from North Carolina to attend the event. Titcomb said she was overwhelmed by seeing so many people assembled just for her and said of her special birthday, “I don’t know how I got here!” Titcomb has two sons, William Titcomb of Marion, and Peter Titcomb of North Carolina, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
